AUTM Central in Indianapolis

I am just back from the 2013 AUTM Central Meeting in Indianapolis Indiana and I wanted to put out a few notes of thanks and a few comments about the meeting.

First of all to Chase Casper, AVP Central Meetings I want to say a big congratulations on putting together a team that was first rate and executed perfectly.  To Jude Wilkinson, who tirelessly attended to the needs of sponsors, exhibitors and attendees while retaining an unflappable Hoosier Pride I have to say thank you Jude.

To Regina McNabb and Michael Moore, Program Co-Chairs and the entire Committee I have to say that you should be commended on putting together a great program that included fantastic sessions with industry leaders, the USPTO (in an interactive video link) and practitioners from the region and beyond that were so interesting and interactive that when the power went out in one of the rooms, everybody kept going by the light of the projector and some cell phones.  Now that is dedication.

This was my first Central Region meeting and my first time in Indianapolis and I was very impressed by the City and the pride shown by the all of the sponsors who welcomed AUTM to town with open arms.  The trivia networking session (a staple of Central meetings for years) also showed that there is a tremendous amount to learn about Indiana besides racing and basketball (but there were a lot of questions about both).

One session that I particularly enjoyed was the "Getting More from your AUTM Membership" because it gave me a chance to hear some fresh comments and give some updates on what AUTM is doing to make that membership more valuable every day. I would take any chance to have more of these sessions at any regional or national meeting.

Meetings are hard work and cannot be accomplished as seamlessly and well without the tireless contribution of volunteers who give selflessly of their lunch hours, evenings and weekends so we can better build our community of professionals.  These are the volunteers who made this meeting happen and I thank each and every one of them:

Chase C. Kasper, M.B.A., University of Southern Mississippi

Regina K. McNabb, CRA, University of Oklahoma

I echo Sean's comments....even after 26 years, I learn something new every time I attend the AUTM Central Region Meeting. Fabulous as usual. Congrats to Chase, Regina, Mike, Jude, the entire committee, presenters and attendees! Looking forward to the 2014 CRM! Anne D.
