We heard you! The AUTM member survey results show that professional development matters to you

As AUTM President Todd Sherer mentioned in his recent blog, the membership survey provided valuable input for AUTM leadership in many areas.

As the AUTM VP for Professional Development, I was pleased with the amount of feedback we received on AUTM's professional development offerings.

Members who responded to the survey said that they would like more webinars and they would like to get more value out of these webinars. We plan to offer additional webinars as well as webinar series on topics of current interest.

In this member survey, as well as the last member survey, members asked for more advanced content. We will continue to develop courses and webinars for more experienced practitioners. AUTM has created the Advanced Marketing course, being offered at the Annual meeting as an add-on course. The AUTM Startup Business Development Course, also being offered at the annual meeting was redesigned and is chock full of advanced topics specifically designed for the experienced technology transfer professional.

AUTM has been working hard to increase our offerings to our international members as well. Last year AUTM helped 170+ universities in Turkey write their technology transfer policies and jumpstart their technology transfer efforts. We trained those who will continue to offer training in Turkey, so this model would become self-sustaining. AUTM has a successful program in Chile for training tech transfer professionals through our experienced cadre of AUTM faculty. We also offered three courses in Japan and South Africa in December.

AUTM continues to listen to the members' need for additional courses and offerings. We have partnered with LES to provide the CLP review courses, to enable more of you to seek this certification.

We look forward to your feedback on these new initiatives and other suggestions to make AUTM Professional Development even better.

Sincerely,
Dipanjan (DJ) Nag, Ph.D., MBA, CLP
AUTM VP for Professional Development
