For years now AUTM has been searching for the most effective and impactful networking opportunities for its academic and industry members. To this end, the Annual Meeting introduced our new Technology Display Forum to the AUTM membership, and we were well pleased with the positive feedback we received from both academic and industry participants.
For those of you that missed this opportunity in Orlando last year, this event provides a forum for tech transfer offices to showcase their hottest technologies to industry partners. Technology Posters are available for review throughout the meeting, and participants make themselves available to discuss their technologies at designated times. This even culminates with the Technology Display Forum Reception Friday afternoon – which was attended by more than 150 industry and university members last year.
For most participants the Technology Display Forum resulted in multiple productive discussions during the meeting as well as follow-up discussions after the meeting. We heard back from many participants requesting that we repeat the Forum this year. To heighten visibility and increase the impact of the Forum this year, our display area will be adjacent to the entrance to the meeting space for all to see.
Abstracts of technologies being presented will be sent out in advance of the meeting to AUTM members from industry. The more institutions participating in the Forum, the bigger the draw for industry - so talk it up with colleagues and encourage them to sign up.
