Managing stakeholder expectations in changing times

I am looking forward to the October 13 AUTM webinar which targets new tech transfer professionals and provides tools and tactics for successfully managing stakeholder expectations.  Stakeholders include the office, faculty, licensees, and the public.

In the current economic situation, stakeholder expectations and motivations may be changing and impact what you do as a tech transfer professional.

I've led university-wide analyses of stakeholders and know the value of understanding their perspectives.  Most importantly, you can use the information to better position future efforts.

The webinar will featured two presenters with uniquely different backgrounds:  one with experience in analyzing expectations and strategic planning, and the other with valuable  "outside" perspectives in understanding faculty motivations and positioning "self".  A practical stakeholder analysis tool will be presented and discussed and a case study will be used as an example.

I believe this will be a good educational opportunity for relatively new tech transfer professionals.

I second David's comments on the importance of managing stakeholder expectations. In today's environment a technology transfer and licensing professional has to balance the differing expectations from a wide variety of constituencies, not all of which view the world through the same lens. Looking forward to this.
