Come to
beautiful Portland October 24-26 and stay at The (fabulous) Nines Hotel! To make this even more enticing, you will be
with AUTM colleagues at our professional development courses.
For Administrative Staff
We have the AUTM
2011 TOOLS Course just for you. Workshops are led by seasoned experts that
know how to handle the everyday issues you encounter.
The program includes topics on the fundamentals
of technology transfer; the patent and licensing process; office operations
processes, such as budgeting, tracking expenses and managing the receipt and
distribution of licensing revenue; and those critical issues such as compliance
and information management. Interactive
workshops also include a real-time demonstration of iEdison and the review of a
sample license agreement.
For “Newbies” in Academic Tech Transfer
Welcome to the Profession! The AUTM 2011
Essentials Course will give you an overview
of the basics (in fact, it was formerly called the AUTM Basic Licensing Course)
of our profession. These basics have
evolved, and so has the course!
You will encounter individuals from
diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, all with a desire to understand the
fundamentals of academic technology transfer, build their skills and effectively
perform in the field. These classroom settings provide an
excellent opportunity to build valuable networking connections.
Workshops follow the lifecycle of our
work, from invention disclosure through licensing. Topics include discussions about engagements
with established companies and startups; issues and concerns between industry
and academia; essential aspects of public, intellectual property and contract
law related to evaluation, marketing and commercialization of early stage
technologies.
Don’t forget these courses are
eligible for continuing education credits toward achieving the Registered Technology Transfer Professional
(RTTP) credential and for recertification of your Certified Licensing
Professional (CLP) credential.
