Springboard Enterprises Provides Opportunities for Women Entrepreneurs

I’ve recently connected with Springboard Enterprises, an innovative organization that showcases high-quality, women-led companies that are seeking investors. Springboard has a good track record for facilitating spin-out companies (success stories include Constant Contact, ZipCar, Tikatok, and many more) and is providing great opportunities for women entrepreneurs.

Their new Springboard: Life Science 2012 program will recruit early-stage ventures in biotechnology, medical devices, health care information technology (IT), and other related sectors looking for institutional funding. They’ll screen and coach a selected group with the help of Springboard’s Life Science Council and a community of entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts.

As a woman entrepreneur myself, I am inspired and excited by Springboard’s efforts. Their overall mission and the new Life Sciences 2012 program provide a great opportunity for technology transfer offices to encourage women entrepreneurs to participate and leverage potential resources for getting new spin-out companies off the ground.

Those interested in participating or learning more can reach out to Katie Gage, Manager of Programming, at programs@springboardenterprises.org or visit www.springboardenterprises.org/forum. The deadline to apply for the Life Science 2012 program is April 3rd. Applications for their digital media/technology program will open in mid-April.
