Do you have discoveries from your university in the neglected disease space?
I’ll be hosting a session at the AUTM 2015 Eastern Region Meeting in Raleigh on September 1, 2015. Joining me will be Steve Ferguson from the NIH OTT, Jared Jacobson, IP Counsel for the Gates Foundation, Chan Park, General Counsel from Medicines Patent Pool, and Robert DeBerardine, General Counsel for Sanofi North America. We’ll be drawing on our collective expertise in the area of commercializing technologies most relevant to those in developing countries. We will explore issues in patent strategy and attracting commercialization partners, and determine best practices for our profession. Particular emphasis will be placed on partnerships with funding agencies, patent pool licensing/WIPO research, patent pools, and humanitarian clauses for license agreements.
This topic will be of interest to licensing managers with technologies in their portfolio that address unmet needs in developing countries.
