If you haven't registered yet for the AUTM Annual Meeting, what are you waiting for? My last blog listed the five reasons for attending the Annual Meeting, but once in San Antonio, don't miss out on these events and sessions:
AUTM Career Development Forum
Wednesday, February 27, 4 – 5 p.m.
For those of you interested in the options and pathways available in pursuing a career in technology transfer or you are ready to transition outside the field, I encourage you to attend the AUTM Career Development Forum. This is only offered every other year, so don’t miss it!
Freshman Orientation and Networking Event
Wednesday, February 27, 5 – 6 p.m.
If this is your first AUTM Annual Meeting, plan on attending the Freshman Orientation and Networking Event, where you'll meet other Annual Meeting first timers, and Program Chair Claire Driscoll will walk you through the AUTM ConnectTM partnering software, the various sessions of the Annual Meeting, and conclude with a business card exchange with your new colleagues!
Opening Reception
Thursday, February 28, 6 –7:30 p.m.
Meet with your colleagues and make some new contacts!
Technology Transfer Trivia Competition
Friday, March 1, 2 – 4 p.m.
Do you think you know more than your colleagues about technology transfer and other esoteric knowledge? Come have some fun and compete for bragging rights.
Texas Hold ’em Poker Tournament
Friday, March 1, 3–7 p.m.
Sign up for the Texas Hold ’em Poker Tournament and apply those critical decision-making and risk-calculation skills to good use whether you have played before or not! Regardless of the number of chips you have by the end, you will connect with many new faces, and have a stack of new business cards. Don’t believe me? Read Jon Jensen’s blog on his experience at last year’s poker tournament. The tournament fills up fast, so register early.
Closing Reception
Saturday, March 2, 6:30 – 8 p.m.
Congratulate yourself on a successful meeting (learning new strategies to implement, meeting future licensees/licensors, and making new contacts) at the Closing Reception.
I hope you are looking forward to the 2013 Annual Meeting as much as I am! If you have not yet signed, up, you can register here .
See you in San Antonio!
