Assistant IP Counsel Position - Northwestern University

Northwestern University is seeking an Assistant General Counsel, Intellectual Property on the Evanston campus to advance intellectual property efforts and collaboration opportunities. This position will manage, develop and maintain legal, regulatory, and compliance oversight of all intellectual property (IP) related needs including: advising clients on legal provisions IP related agreements, such as non-disclosure agreements and license agreements and IP provisions in agreements.

The ideal candidate will hold a Juris Doctorate and have seven or more years’ experience in patent drafting and prosecution, patent opinion drafting and licensing/agreement work. Their patent experience should be specific to life sciences, physical sciences and/or electronics. Experience in a major law firm or corporate environment is strongly preferred.
