We heard you!

Last October many of you participated in the AUTM member needs survey. We conduct this survey every other year to make sure we know what's most important to you and how we can continue to deliver member benefits that work for you.
  • There were 591 respondents to the survey
  • Most (92.4 percent) are employed full time, 83.9 percent in the U.S.
  • 66.2 percent of those who responded to the question are employed at universities or colleges
Once the survey closed in late October we formed a taskforce of volunteers to review the data. Responses were confidential. The data were presented to the AUTM Board, and shared with all AUTM committees. The Member Needs Survey Taskforce, chaired by incoming VP Membership, Western Hemisphere Kirsten Leute is now meeting with AUTM program area leaders to discuss key findings from the survey—what we're doing well and what new programs you'd like to see.

As AUTM President, I was pleased to learn that we seem to be doing a great job providing you with a lot of value for your membership. But, as a member-driven organization, we are always looking to do more, and we're happy to have input on new programs and services.

Over the next several weeks you'll hear from several of our key program leaders with updates on what they learned from the survey and any action that they plan to take based on the survey results.

We know AUTM members complete a lot of surveys every year, so I want to personally thank each and every one of you who took the time to tell us how we're doing. I want to also thank AUTM VP for Membership, Western Hemisphere Phyl Speser, who designed the survey to cover all areas of AUTM, but set up the survey so that you could select which areas were most important to you, saving you a little time and frustration.

The AUTM Board is always happy to hear your thoughts on your member experience. If you didn't have a chance to complete the survey, and you have anything you'd like to share, please comment on this blog or send an email to
president@autm.net. Thanks!
Sincerely,

Todd Sherer
AUTM President
