David G. Maskalick, Ph.D., President and CEO of BiotecConnect, Inc., launched the company in 2002.
Since then Dave has been marketing and establishing BiotecConnect research brokerage and consulting contracts while developing, employing and maintaining the BiotecConnect Knowledge Database. Since 2005 Dave has also been consulting with start-up companies.
Dave developed his management and applied research expertise while serving as a senior scientist from 1984 to 1991 and a research scientist from 1992 to 2000 at Eli Lilly and Company.
He led the development of four protein purification processes from lab bench, to pilot plant, and into manufacturing while collaborating with and leading collaboration between individuals in research, analytical, product development, engineering, business, manufacturing, quality control, and regulatory components.
He directly led applied research programs toward the discovery and development of the cGMP manufacture of 10g to 1000g of protein products.
These applied research programs utilized methods of protein folding, chromatographic purification, chemical modification, and crystallization.
The analysis of statistically designed experiments was used to optimize product quality, product yield and reproducibility of protein purification processes.
